The Seditious Ted Cruz and the Treacherous Josh Hawley

Betrayers of the Constitution

Portraits of Traitors

Back in the early 16th century, the learned lawyer Sir Thomas More proclaimed, “One of the greatest problems of our time is that many are schooled but few are educated.” Unfortunately, veteran Senator Ted Cruz and newly elected Senator Josh Hawley are the poster boys for More’s astute observation.

Cruz graduated from Harvard Law School, and Hawley graduated from Yale Law School, two institutions of higher learning considered among the best in our country. Eleven current and former Supreme Court justices hail from Yale. The venerated Harvard University has been around for so long that several of our Founding Fathers attended, including John Adams and John Hancock. When they were crafting the Constitution, the literal blueprint for our new republic, I do not believe they ever contemplated the greatest threat to our democracy would come from the very leaders who swore an oath to uphold and defend that precious of all documents.

Our institutions are the bedrock of our democracy. Hawley, Cruz, and Donald Trump have been drilling holes through the bedrock for years. I know Donald Trump has never read or understood the Constitution. If Cruz and Hawley did read it at one time, they failed to grasp the meaning behind its eloquent words.

The Founding Fathers never imagined several sitting United States senators and 139 members of the House of Representatives would become seditious traitors working in concert with the President of the United States to alter our form of government, transforming it into an autocracy. The drafters of the Constitution assumed the leaders of our country would possess honor and show allegiance to the United States. But Donald Trump and his enablers, Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley, proved them wrong.

Cruz and Hawley managed to secure prominent positions after law school. They both reached the highest echelons of the legal community. Ted Cruz clerked for former Chief Justice William Rehnquist and Hawley for current Chief Justice John Roberts.

Former U.S. Senator, the Reverend John Danforth, one of the most honorable citizens of this country, recently lamented that supporting Josh Hawley in the 2018 election, “was the worst mistake I ever made in my life.” The humble Reverend Danforth wants to see the good in people, but ultimately, he found out blind ambition drove Hawley. . . not faith in God. It is clear now that Hawley is hell-bent on trampling every institution held dear by people like Danforth to get what he wants.

Hawley cultivated the support of Reverend Danforth by seeming to mirror Danforth’s path in life. He knew securing Danforth’s backing was his ticket to the big leagues, and he has been salivating over the millions of Trump voters who he envisioned voting for him in his 2024 run for the presidency. But being the dishonest eager beaver he is, Hawley screwed the pooch, and his charade promptly fell apart. Danforth was simply hoodwinked by this traitor in patriot’s clothing who tried to co-opt some of the reverend’s honor, having none of his own. Hawley, the seditious Christian, is plainly a fraud.

Hawley’s resume includes a stint as a constitutional law professor if you can believe that. He was also a faculty member at the Blackstone Legal Fellowship which claims to “prepare Christian law students for careers marked by integrity, excellence, and leadership.” Hawley’s collaboration with Trump’s attempted coup makes his association with Blackstone’s creed absurd.

After Hawley’s anti-constitutional actions on January 6, 2021, publisher Simon and Schuster canceled his book contract because of his treacherous behavior. Senator Hawley, “the professor,” complained in a muddled and clearly wrong interpretation that the publisher had violated his 1st Amendment right to free speech. This blockhead is teaching future lawyers about the Constitution when he does not even understand how the 1st Amendment prohibits the government from silencing most speech; it does not apply to private publishing companies. Perhaps Yale Law School should review its curriculum because this guy, as one Twitter user put it, “is a dope.”

Former presidential candidate Ted Cruz is thought to be a smart guy and if he is as intelligent as some think, it makes what he has done even more egregious. Perhaps he is too smart, and he started to overthink the obvious. His political ambitions have caused him to throw our democracy under the bus by perverting what he knows to be true about the Constitution.

Whatever is driving Cruz’s wild and unsubstantiated accusations about election fraud is only known to him. However, his “win at all costs” strategy involves all of us now because it is destroying our country and it has to stop.

According to reports from his fellow senators, politicians on both sides of the aisle have always despised Cruz and he wears that disgust like a badge of honor instead of reevaluating his off-the-wall positions on every issue. Cruz has no ability to self-reflect. He looks in the mirror and sees a patriot and future president. Every other sane person sees a lunatic with an unyielding determination to demolish the institutions of the United States for his own personal political benefit.

This ruse about election fraud Cruz and Hawley cooked up was simply a strategy to position themselves for a 2024 run for president. It is hard to believe they both were heartless enough to send fundraising texts to potential donors begging for their financial support at the same moment hundreds of thugs breached security and forced their way into the Capitol carrying guns, bats, pipe bombs, zip ties, and who knows what else, searching the building for the Vice President, the Speaker of the House, and any other members of Congress who were simply carrying out their duties in accordance with the Constitution.

Members of Congress were being hunted down for honoring their oaths. These armed supporters of the President were ready to kill people to keep Donald Trump in power, aided and abetted by Senators Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley. Five people have died so far, including a Capitol police officer sworn to ensure the safety of Congress, even protecting the turncoats Cruz and Hawley, who are directly responsible for his death.

Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley should be expelled from Congress. Article 3 of the 14th Amendment spells out their punishment for fueling an insurrection by falsely claiming there was massive election fraud. It bars public officials who provide aid and comfort to insurrections from ever holding public office. They have been stoking the mob’s fires for months and they have been doing it from the floor of the U.S. Senate.

U.S. CONSTITUTION, AMENDMENT 14 — Section 3:

No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.

Why do they want to be part of a government they hate and work overtime to undermine? Hawley and Cruz have forfeited the privilege of representing anyone in this country since they both have been so instrumental in engineering the country’s near demise.

Cruz and Hawley should not only give up their senate seats, they should also give up their citizenship.
